On April 11, 2008 Quincy Pearl turned 1 year old! How fast it went.
We had several mini parties to celebrate. Ryan had a race in Spokane the weekend of the 5th, so we headed out on Friday afternoon. We finally made it to Coeur d’Alene on Saturday morning. I made a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for a party with Ryan’s family. We had a nice dinner and opened gifts from Grandma Jeni, Aunt Katie, Grandma Barbara & Grandpa Buster, and Great Auntie Diane . She was very sleepy, since it all happened late in the evening. But she made it through like a good little trooper. She even enjoyed a nice big bite of cake that Daddy fed her.
I made spice cupcakes with Pink cream cheese frosting to take to Daycare on Thursday. She showed up with a big bag of balloons and cupcakes to share with her friends at Peace Place. They had a great time with party hats and all. She loves all of her friends at Peace Place.
Uncle Chris and Aunt Sweetpea came to visit the Saturday after her Birthday. They gave her a cute wooden cart with a seat and handle that she loves to push around. (I’ll get some pictures of this soon) It was our first sunny and warm day all year long since last summer. It was so warm we sat down by the lake and lounged in the sun until our cheeks were pink.
Ryan and I got her a bike trailer for her Birthday. She took her first inaugural ride this morning. She was hooting the whole way singing songs. Quincy and Daddy will have a lot of fun times together with the trailer. We are even planning a bike trip on the San Juan islands if we ever get to see the sun again.
Grandma and Grandpa Cole will come and celebrate with us when they get home from Malaysia.
I know she is only one, but I don’t think she will forget her first Birthday week! Here is to a great year ahead.

Holy moly! Quincy is 1!! I can hardly believe it. She looks like such a cutie pie!
